Spins & Needles is a traveling creative night out with a pastiche twist, that serves up local and international DJs playing underground beats mixed with art/design hands-on projects in bars, clubs, galleries, museums and other esoteric spaces.
The Vancouver installment on Sunday September 18 features underground tech/house beats by DJs Jason Pelletier (Spins & Needles), Nima Saeedi (Systemsounds) and Kir Mokum (Shah DJs).
Plus it’s a surealist-themed DIY party: come out for a night of unexpected collage and drawing projects that Salvador Dali would be proud of . It takes place at the newly reimagined creative compound, the Waldorf Hotel.
About
Spins & Needles is a travelling creative night out with a pastiche twist, serving up local and international DJs playing underground beats mixed with art/design hands-on projects in bars, clubs, galleries, museums and other esoteric spaces. First conceived in Montreal by designer Melanie Yugo and DJ Jason Pelletier, they threw the first event as a way to create a temporary space for creative types to get together, listen to music and make stuff. It quickly caught on; since then over 100 events and workshops have been produced in the US, Canada, UK and Europe. They have just come off a Fall 2011 European tour with events in London, Berlin and Barcelona. The Vancouver event will be followed by dates in Montreal and Ottawa.
