Spins & Needles engages and inspires communities through curated art and music experiences.
Founded in 2005, Spins & Needles is an independent, art and music collective comprised of Melanie Yugo and Jason Pelletier. We are motivated by the belief that everyone should have access to and participate in cultural life. We are based in Ottawa, Canada’s capital city.
Our collective is active in the fields of public programming, music and graphic art curation, site-specific installation, publishing, art direction, event design and art education.
Our initiatives and workshops have been hosted at the National Gallery of Canada, the Ottawa Art Gallery, Galerie SAW Gallery, the Canadian Museum of History, the Canadian Museum of Nature, and at other venues in the United States, United Kingdom and Europe.
Our current self-initiated projects include a record label, silkscreening studio, graphic art exhibitions, and workshops. To celebrate our 10-year anniversary in 2015, we opened Possible Worlds, a gallery, shop and project space, in the heart of Chinatown, Ottawa.
